Your journey to superfast broadband
Here we provide you with some advice and guidance on upgrading your broadband connection to superfast.
Firstly, it is important to remember that you need to order superfast broadband through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as TalkTalk, PlusNet, BT or Zen etc. i.e. you don't get access automatically. Your ISP should be able to offer you any technical support or assistance in your transition to superfast.
There are serveral ways that you may be informed that superfast broadband is available in your area, including;-
- By registering your interest with us. We can keep you informed about how the roll out progresses and which areas are next to be upgraded - go here if you are a resident and here if you are a busienss. We will also let residents and businesses know through leaflet drops, social media and local publicity events.
- By contacting your existing ISP or any ISP of your choice. ISPs are told several weeks in advance by BT Openreach about exchanges and cabinets that are about to go live. Therefore, if they intend to offer superfast broadband from the cabinet that connects your premises they will be able to tell you and if so, will be taking orders for the the upgraded service. Bear in mind that ISPs need to make a sizeable investment to offer superfast broadband to customers (instalation of equipment at the telephone exchange) and some may choose not to.
