Connection Voucher Scheme News

Connection vouchers have now been offered to 40 businesses across Leeds and Bradford since the scheme was launched in February. Hundreds more companies are in the process of applying for connection vouchers, which offer up to £3,000 to upgrade to superfast broadband.

Businesses benefitting from the scheme so far include a TV production company, a golf club, a radio station and marketing agency. "Connection vouchers aren't limited to a single sector or type of company," says connection voucher manager Mark Durham. "All SMEs can benefit from the scheme.

Businesses that have received connection vouchers to date are now receiving an average connection speed of nearly 50MBps – over FOUR times what they had before!"

Between them, these businesses estimate that they will create an extra 145 jobs by March 2015, and improved turnover by an average of £173,000 per business.
