The Government's Superconnected Cities Initiative
The Connection Vouchers scheme is part of National Government's £150M 'Superconnected Cities' programme. It's being administered here in Leeds and Bradford by the Local Authorities.Government recognises that fast, reliable broadband internet access is essential for UK businesses to compete globally.
Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) is the part of Department for Culture, Media and Sport responsible for the Urban Broadband Fund and the SuperConnected Cities Programme. It aims to support economic growth and jobs across the UK by giving people the ability to access high-grade broadband and wireless connectivity, and to stimulate the market to go further and at a faster pace than it would otherwise have done. This investment in the UK’s future will help secure a stronger economy and make us more competitive in the global market.
